Pemanfaatan Data Dan Hformasi Surveilans Gizi (www.sigizi.com) Sebagai Bahan Untuk Pengambilan K Eputusan Program Gi Zi Di Puskesmas Se-Kabupaten Lombok Barat
Abstract :
Nutritional issues can have impacts on the quality of human resources who are crucially needed in nation development Nutritional disorders among children can cause children growth disorders. Below five¬year-old children are among one of the highly-risked groups to experience physical development disorders when faced with nutritional disorders. Health information system in West Lombok Regency has not been optimally established. This can be seen from the presence of various issues concerning health data and information, such as data inaccuracy, data inconsistency as well as data unreliability, slow data transmission, and unfrequent data processing and presentation.
The research is to obtain an overview about the utilisation of nutritional surveillenc.e data and information (www.sigizi.com) as the resources for nutritional programme decision-making at Public Health Centres throughout West Lombok Regency. The research was done at West Lombok Regency Health Department This research was carried out about 5 months, starting from July until November 2011. This research applied the qualitative method with a descriptive case-study research design on data and information management The samples that were also playing the role as subjects (participants) in this research were all Nutrition Operational Staff (Tenaga Pelaksana Giz1=7T1G). Data was collected through observation, in-depth interview, Focused Group Discussion (FGD), questionnaire and documentation.
According to FGD : It was discovered that there was a variety in timely report sending, mostly stating that complete report could only be sent to the West Lombok Regency Health Department after the 10th day each month. 10 participants stated that they all knew the website but only 2 participants had actually visited the website, i.e. the Nutritional Operational Staff (Tenaga Pelaksana Gin) from Gering Public Health Centre and Pelangan Public Health Centre. Several public health centres that were creative in facing issues within their operational areas were quick to respond whenever cases emerged. Frequently faced issues by the Nutritional Operational Staff were the numerous reporting format that were available, which were problematic in the filling technique as well as being frequently altered.
According to in-depth interview result : participants had never utilised the data that was available at the website due to its lack of completeness and accuracy. From the data that was obtained from the public health centres, participants confessed that they had been given feed back once a year i.e. in April 2011; while according to observation result it could be seen that data management was still heavily relying on manual management Data presentation had made use of computer-generated graphics and had been adequately updated Data display was only done in the nutrition room so it was felt still lacking for inter-programme purposes.
Improvement of nutritional data management and reporting should be emphasized so that data flow starting from data source to publication and feed back will have clear procedures, standard format and not frequently altered. Similar understanding and perspective on the importance of data are needed.
