Potensi Minyak Atsiri Daun Nilam (Pogostemon cablin B.), Daun Babadotan (Ageratum conyzoides L), Bunga Kenanga (Cananga odorata hook F & Thoms) dan Daun Rosemarry (Rosmarinus officinalis L ) sebagai Repelan terhadap Nyamuk Aedes aegypti L.

Shinta - Nama Orang;

Dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF) is a vector borne disease which is still a problem in Indonesia, because the morbidity associated with death. The main causes of dengue vector mosquito Aedes aegypti therefore important to prevent mosquito bites Ae. aegypti. One way to prevent bites Ae. aegypti is used as personal protective repelan. Some plants that contain essential oils can be used as repelan. Repelan mechanism is contained in the smell of essential oils seep into the pores of the skin and the heat of the body, the environment, essential oils evaporate into the air. This odor will be detected by chemical receptors found on the antennae of mosquitoes and transmitted to the nerve impulses, responded to the brain so that mosquitoes will express themselves to escape. This article is a review, aims to determine the potential repelan several plants were tested in the body provides protection from mosquitoes Ae. aegypti.

The study used an experimental method, test the potential of the leaf essential oil Patchouli (Pogostemon cablin B.) in a concentration of 45%, 55%, 65%, and 75%, Babadotan leave (Ageratum conyzoides L) concentration of 14%, 20%, 29% and 42%, Ylang flower (Cananga odorata Hook F & Thorns) concentration of 5%, 20%. 35% and 50% and rosemarty leaves (Rosmarinus officinalis L) concentration of 36%, 43%, 52% and 62% for use as a biological repelan against mosquitoes Ae. aegypti. Repelan test using the arms of volunteers. As a negative control using a solution of tween 20 and as a positive control using a solution of 23% DEET. Observation of the repelan performed every hour to hour to six. To find out the potential of essential oils used repelan power calculation using the formula: DR = (K - P) / K x 100%. Plants are said to have power when the power repelan repelan? 95%. Patchouli Essential oils of leaves, Babadotan leave, Roseman); flowers and leaves has the potential of the mosquito Ae aegypti repelan. Essential oils of Patchouli leaves 55% v / v, Babadotan leaves 29% v / v, Ylang flowers 20% v / v and Rosemarry leaves 62% v / v has the power repelan for 3 hours against mosquitoes for 97.6% consecutive Ae.aegypti, 97.2%, 97.4% and 96.2%. Ylang flowers 35% v / v can be expanded as• repelan as long as 6 hours is still moderately high at 93.6% Further research will be needed to find other plants that are synergistic effect can be enhanced repelan concentrations remained low.
