Hubungan Karakteristik Penjamah Makanan dengan Kontaminasi Escherichia Coli pada Penyajian Makanan Pendamping Air Susu Ibu Lokal pada Empat Nagari di Kabupaten Solok Tahun 2012 (Relationship of Food Handlers Caracteristics to E. Coli Contamination in Serving Complementary Feeding at Four Villages of Solok District In 2012)
This study observed relationship caracteristics of food handlers to E. coli contamination in serving complemntary feeding for 6-12 month old infants at 4 vilages in Solok District West Sumatra Province. The study observed 138 house hold that serving complemntary food for 6-12 month old infant. E. coil contamination was examination from complementary food and food handlers hands using conventional methode by MPN using persumtive and confirmative test. The study found that 72,5% of complementary food and 57,9% food handler hands were contaminatied. The most significant factors to E. coli contamination of serving complementary food are food handler hands E. coli contamination and drying hands using high risk napkins. Contaminated hands by E. coli 3 time riskier to contaminate compementary food. Drying hands using hig risk napkins, 0,3 riskier to contaminate compementary food. Prevention efforts for E. coli contamination in complementary food can be carried out by improving the socialization about hand washing method and using safe napkins for drying hands.
