Antibiotics Consumption in Musi Rawas District (Penggunaan Antimikroba di Kabupaten Musi Rawas)
Antibiotics consumptions were becoming important especially for treatment and perscription. Antibiotics are not only for treatment infections diseases which still high in Indonesia, but also over-prescribing and irrational pescribtion. Accordance with development of modern technology, it would cause drug explosion in which people have been exposed to multidrugs or substances/chemistry compounds on their own environment. Drug utility indicators was neccessary to anticipate those effects above. Study objective was to determine drug consumption (6 months periode) in Musi Rawas District. In this study, we use defined daily dose as a measurement. In this study we found that the highest drug consumption was tetracycline (1.3 DDD/1000/day), followed by amoxilline (0.5 DDD/day, ampicillin (0.3 DDD/1000/day), cotrimoxazole (0.2/DDD/1000/day), and chloramphenicol (0.1 DDD/1000/day). Antibiotics use from time to time increased accordance with diseases pattern except amoxillin.
