Knowledge, attitudes, and behavior relationship to the dengue hemorrhagic fever incident in Banjarbaru City, South Kalimantan (Hubungan pengetahuan, sikap, dan perilaku masyarakal terhadap demam berdarah dengue di Kota Banjarbaru, Kalimantan Selatan)
Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) is an infectious disease caused by dengue virus which is transmitted through the bite of Aedes aegypti and Aedes albopictus. Many areas in lndonesia were endemic for dengue fever, inci ud ing South Kalimantan. The spread of dengue fever in South Kalimantan Province occurred in 13 (thirteen) city/district, the highest case occurred in Banjarbaru City. This study aimed to determine the level of knowledge, attitudes and behavior of the community to DHF in Banjarbaru City. This descriptive research used cross sectional approach th at describes the knowledge, attitudes, and community action against dengue disease objectively. The population in this study were respondents in Banjarbaru City. Sampling was conducted by systematic random sampling. The instruments used were questionnaire and checklist sheets that have been tested for their validity and reliability. Results showed that the level of knowledge and level of community attitudes towards dengue disease in Banjarbaru were moderate, while the actions and attitudes towards dengue disease in Banjarbaru were good.
