Bell,s Palsy dan Terapi Terkini
Bells palsy is an acute inflamatory process disease that can cause the paralysis of nervus facialis peripher , the inflamatory process itself hap pen from the level of pons to distal area that can usually cause the unilateral symptoms. The main symtomps from this disease can be ranged from epiphora, pain in the back of ears that can be travel through head, neck , and back of the eye that can appear before and after the palsy incident, hyperaccustic, numb area, dry mou th, disorder in a two by three anterior aspect of the tounge. The diagnosis itself can be made only by differentiate whether it were a central palsy or peripher palsy, and then the next step was to do the an early full physical examination from cranial nerves, sensoric and motoric system, and additional work up such as EMG,MRI if needed. The main treatment for belIs palsy in non pharmacological way was varied from face excercise , muscle retaining, and acupuncuture, even though they are no side effects from this therapy but the result was not exactly found. In pharmacological theraphy the most efective regimen for bell's palsy patient was to be given corticosteroid, antiviral (such as acyclovir and valacyclovir) that have the same result with placebo.
