Endodermal Sinus Tumor
A case of Endodermal Sinus Tumor was reported with contralateral dermoid cyst in an unmarried 21 years old woman. Her chief complaint was the progressive enlargement of the abdoment in several last months. There were abnormal results for enlargement of her ovaries with the form of cystic and solid pattern and increased AFP until more than 350 ng/ml (N: 10,9 ng/ml). The patient was then performed exploration laparatomy, salphingooovorectomy at the right ovary and simple cystectomy at the left one, also appendictomy, omentectomy and pelvic, paraaortal lymphadenectomy followed by conservative surgical staging. The mass of right ovary from the frozen section during operation was confirmed malignant, and we found dermoid cyst at the left ovary. Adjuvant chemotherapy with BEP regiment (Bleomycin, Etoposid, and Carboplatin) was given fifteen days after conservative surgical staging. The level of the AFP serial showed a significant decline into normal value; 5,34 ng/ml, after four series of scheduled chemotherapy.
