Bacterial Non-Gonococal Non-Tuberculosis Septic Arthritis in Dr. Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital, Jakarta (Artritis Septik Bakterial Non-Gonokokal Non-Tuberkulosis di RSUPN Dr. Cipto Mangunkusumo, Jakarta)
Objective: to determine the pattern of bacterial non-gonococal non-tuberculous septic arthritis patients who was treated in Cipto Mangunkusumo General Hospital Jakarta, in four years period from 1990 to 1993. Material and methods: This study was done by reviewing the medical record of arthritis patients with emphasizing of the clinical manifestations. Results and conclusions: In those period only 7 patients with this septic arthritis from 72,789 cases of patients admitted (0.01 patient), which consist of 5 males and 5 females. The age range of those patients were from 17 to 52 years. All septic arthritis cases in this study involved the knee joint which 5 cases manifested as monoarthritis, one case with 2 joint involvement (knee and hip), one case with three joints involvements (knee, wrist and elbow). Causative organism was found on 6 cases which are staphylococcus aureus in 5 cases and Escherichia coli in one case. Six cases admitted late from 10 to 30 days after the onset, and need to have surgical procedure performed and recovered with some deformities.
