Kemampuan Auditorik Anak Tuli Kongenital Derajat Sangat Berat dengan dan Tanpa Alat Bantu Dengar Auditory Skill in Children with Profound Congenital Deafness with and without Hearing Aid)
Background: Congenital deafness was one of the cause hearing impairment in children. Early identification and intervention need for children with congenital deafness. One of intervention method in children with congenital deafness is hearing aid. Some of children with congenital deafness did not want and/or are unable to hearing aid. This study aimed to assess auditory skill score in children with congenital deafness used with and without hearing aid.
Method : There was cross sectional study by questionnaire. Sampie of the study were children with congenital deafness 2-5 years old, bilateral profound hearing less, have been examined by BERA at Kariadi Hospital in 2009. Auditory skill score was assessed by Infant-Toddler Meaningful Auditory Integration Scale (IT-MAIS). Family support was assessed by Family Participation Rating Scale. Unpaired t-test used to analyze data. Results: Sampie of the study were 20 children, 11 were males and 9 females. Ten of them with hearing aid and 10 others without. In regards to the age, they were 30-60 months (mean 49.3 ± 7.41) whereas the age of identification range from 6-37 months (mean 27.1 ± 8.27).
