A Double Blind Clinical Trial of Betamethasone Dipropionate Cream and Gentamicine Sulfate Versus Diflucortolone Valerate Cream and 1 Chlorquinaldol in the Treatment of the Neurodermatitis Sircumscripta with Secondary Infection (Uji Klinis Krim Betametason Dipropionat dan Gentamisin Sulfat dengan Krim Diflukartolon Valerat dan Khlorquinaldol 1 pada Neurodermatitis dengan Infeksi Sekunder)
To evaluate effectiveness and safety in the treatment of the neurodermatitis sircumscripta with secondary infection with topical preparations, we did a prospective study, random and double blind clinical trial between 0.05 percent betamethasone dipropionate cream with 0,1 percent gentamicin sulfate versus 0.1 percent diflucortolone valerate cream with 0.1 percent chlorquinaldol in 60 patients since January until December 1994 at Dr. Wahidin Sudirohusodo General Hospital, Ujung Pandang. Statistical analysis of the variables in both groups did not show any was significant differences (p more than 0.05) between for the age, sex, objective and subjective criteria in the beginning of this study. The result of this study indicated that cure on the third day the attendance of and on the seventh day, statistically was not significant (p more than 0.05) but on the fourteenth day of attendance, betamethasone dipropionate and gentamicin sulfate group was significantly different (p less than 0.05) in itching, objective criteria such as lichenification and scratching (p less than 0.01) compared to diflucortolone valerate and chlorquinaldol group. There were no side effects in this study.
