Gangguan Tidur Pada Anak Palsi Serebral (Sleep Disorders in Child with Cerebral Palsy)
Background: Sleep disorder might occur in 25% normal children, however cerebral palsy (CP) children with their special condition such as development aspects, may suffer severe sleep disorders. Diagnosis of sleep disorders need polysomnogram examination but unfortunately its not available readily. Instead a simple Child's Sleep Habbits Questionaire (CSHQ) as developed by Owen from USA, might be used asthe alternative.
Objective : To determine sleep disorder and type of sleep disorders in cerebral palsy types.
Method: Research was done at YPAC Semarang in March until July 2006 on 4-12 years old child with cerebral palsy. We used CSHQ and filled by parents or the care giver. Data analized byanalytic descriptive method.
Results : Fifty children met the inclusion criteria and there was 96% found with sleep disorders. On forty one subjects with spastic cerebral palsy type had sleep onset delay (65%) as the dominant sleep disorders. One subject with discynetic cerebral palsy type as bedtime resistance, two subjects with ataxic type with sleep anxiety and other six subjects with mixed type had parasomnias (83%).
Conclusion: Most ofthe subject with cerebral palsy suffered sleep disorders. Various of cerebral palsy type have different dominant sleep disorders.
