Diltiazem HCI is used as an antihypertensiON and has a very short half-Iife, making ii suitable if made in the form of microcapsules. Research using HPMC and Eudragit RS 30 D as coating end aimed at finding the best ratio of diltiazem HCI microcapsules prepared by spray drying method, in terms of the dissoluiion profile. The microcapsules are made in a homogeneous solution of the active substance and the coating is then atomized by means of spray drying at a temperature determined by the carrier substance. Evaluation on the microcapsules were the SEM (Scanning Electron Microscop), particle size distribution, the recovery factor is accompanied by adsorption and dissolution testing on two conditions to determine the release of active substances in absorb ed microcapsules.
