Efek Pemberian Ekstrak Biji Mahoni (Swietenia Mahagoni L.Jacg) Terhadap Penurunan Kadar Gula Darah Mencit Putih Jantan Diabetes Yang Diinduksi (The Effects of Mahagoni (Swietenia mahagoni L.jacg) on the Blood Sugar Level of the Diabetic White Mice which were Induced by Aloxan)

A laboratory study to find out the effect of mahogany (Swietenia mahagoni L. jacg) seed extract on blood sugar level of the diabetic male white mice that have been given aloxan. The seed extract was prepared by maceration using 96% ethanol solvent, followed by distillation. The treatments, for negative control group were tween 80 1 %, metformin 65 mg/kg8W, and the seed extract were 70 mg/kgBW, 105 mg/kg8W and 140 mg/kgBW given everyday for 14 days. The sugar level have been taken at day-7 and day-14. The data of sugar levels were analyzed by ANOVA and Duncan test. The result showed that the mahogany seed extract at 140 mg/kgBW in 14 days could decrease blood sugar level of the mice, which show equal to the effect of metformin significantly.
