Tumbuh Kembang pada Anak dengan Penyakit Jantung Bawaan (Growth And Development in Children with Congenital Heart Disease)
Congenital heart diseases (CHD) are characterized by anomalies in the structure of the heart and its related tissue such as valves and vessels. These defects are present at birth or typically present in infancy. Defects can be classified as either cyanotic or acyanotic. Patients with CHD present unique nutritional challenges, as they usually have higher energy and nutrient needs, yet they have limited abilities to utilize nutrients. This review provides brief explanation on the growth and development of children with CHD, including possible underlying mechanism and practical suggestion for the management of these children.
