Pendekatan Berbasis Komunitas sebagai Upaya Deteksi Tuberkulosis Paru (Community Approach on the Detection of Pulmonary Tuberculosis)
Tuberculosis is a chronic infection caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis, and among infectious diseases it is rank first as the cause of mortality. The problem in handling this infection lies on the method of detection which is patient oriented and limitation of community participation. The study was conducted in Kelurahan Cawang using community based methods i.e. focus group discussion (FGD), in-dep the interview and rapid survey resulted TB as a priority of health problem. The prevalence of TB in the study area is 0.4%. This result was confinned by sputum examination for acid fast bacili which was done in three consecutive days. This study shows that community based approach i.e. FGD, and rapid survey are a useful tool that can give clues in finding health problems.
