Neurologi Paliatif
The term palliative care was introduced in 1974. In 1990 WHO defined palliative care as the comprehensive care of advanced and terminally ill patients and their families. The activities have been developing and in 2007 WHO enlarged its definition, as an approach that improves the quality of life of patients and their families, through the prevention and relieves of suffering by early problem identification and treatment of pain and other problems.5ubsequently palliative care does not onlyapplied to cancer case but also non-cancer case. 5ince the year 2001, there is new awareness among neurologist to palliative neurologyln tea, some neurological disorders impossible to cure since the diagnosis has been established and palliative interventions are required. The neurologist who had their knowledge from their education process are able to understand the clinical phenomena of cancer and non-cancer case and its association with neurosdence. This article will discuss about the background of palliative care, neuroscience and palliative neurology by presenting illustrative cases.
