Morbidlty and mortality in burns stilI high. Source of the problem lies in the weakness in the assessment and initial management, fluid resuscitation especially in the acute phase. In an attempt ttuid resuscitation known to same formula, including the Baxter formula.
This research is a comparative analytical study, using a one-shot case study destqn, which compared the hemodynamics before and after fluid resuscitation with Baxter formula in the acute phase of burn cases in the Burn Unit GBPT Dr. Soetomo Hospital in August-October 2009 as many as 21 people. Data collected by observation, and analyzed using descriptive methods.
The results showed that after 24 hours of fluid resuscitation with Baxter formula, a deline in the average blood pressure of 132/78 mmHg to 129/74 mmHg and increased mean urine output of 0.79 ml/kg/hour to 1.03 ml/kg/hour.
