Model Pemberdayaan Ibu Menyusui Dalam Meningkatkan Pemberian Asi Eksklusif di Wilayah Kerja Puskesmas Pacarkeling Surabaya

This research was pre experimental post test only design, by qualitative and quantitative approach to find lactating women empowerment model and to assess the effect in breastfeeding pattern which aimed to analyze effectiveness of empowerment model that can improve Exclusive ASI (breastfeeding) in Puskesmas (public health care) Pacar Keling Surabaya.
Population of research was all physiologically pregnant women at trimester 3 to delivery until baby was 6 month and there were 14 people divided into 2 groups: treatment group and control group. Empowerment was performed on treatment group by using ''Successfully providing ASI EKSKIUSUF" module continued by mentoring until one month post partum. Observation result was examined by descriptive using cross tabulation. In this research it was found proper empowerment model: mother knowledge improvement about ASI Exclusive, confirming intention to provide breastfeeding exdusively, support improvement on lactating women, and mentoring for mother when breastfeeding.
The result was most women in treatment group had potential to provide breastfeeding exclusively, and in contrast all women in control group did not give Exclusive breastfeeding. Empowerment model implementation was very effective in improving exclusive breastfeeding.
