This research problem is the high incidence of patients with benign prostetic hyperplasia with a catheter placed through an out patient basis. The study is a descriptive study with the aim of knoWtng the family knowledge about catheter care at home in patients with benign prostatie hyperplasia who underwent outpatient in Poly Urology Sidoarjo Hospital. As the population is all the families of patients with benign prostatie hyperplasia and underwent a catheter placed in Poly Urology outpatient Sidoarjo District Hospital with a target of 20 people and put them together as a research subject.
Based on the result showed that half of the 20 families (50%) less knowledgeable families, nearly half (45%) have solid family, and a small percentage (5%) both knowledgeable family. Expected for local health workers to provide counseling on catheter care at home regularly. And for families to participate actively in the search for sources of information to increase knowledge.
