This study is an analytical study with adesign that aims Cross Sectional know the reliitionship between the initial act of giving oralit at home with the level of dehydration in diarrhea in children in public health of Tanah Kali Kedinding Surabaya. As the population of all mothers and children who had diarrhea at the public health of Tanah Kali Kedinding Surabaya. As the sampIe is selected by simple random sampling of 56 mothers and 56 children. As the independent variable is the initial act of giving oralit at home, while the dependent variable is the degree of dehydration in children with diarrhea.
The collected data were analyzed using statistical analysis with the Chi Square formula, the results found no relationship between the initial act of giving oralit at home with the level of diarrheal dehydration in children in public health of Tanah Kali Kedinding Surabaya. So it ls recommended to mothers whose children had diarrhea in order to give oralit or sugar salt solution as the initial action.
