Pengembangan Rotating Biological Contactor (Rbc) Dengan Menggunakan Media Pipa Polivenil Cloride (Pvc)
This research was experimental analytic research with the pre-post test only Control Group Design aimed to deSign Rotating Biological Contractor (RBC) development using PVC pipe media to decrease ammonium and BOD level. While the specific purposes are: 1) designing Rotating Biological Contractor (RBC) development; 2) measuring ammonium and BOD level of leather waste after processed by RBC, 4) analyzing ammonium and BOD level measurement before and after RBC process performed, 5) testing RBC development optimum capacity using PVC media to decrease ammonium and BOD levels.
Materiais used are: PVC glue, glass glue, waste water. While sampie of resesrai is liquid waste from leather industry in Magetan regency collected by gr ap sampling method. Independent variable of ammonium and BOD levels in leather waste water before treatment provided with developed RBC design. Dependent variable that is ammonium and BOD levels in leather waste water after treatment provided by RBC tools, 3) control variables of waste water, developed RBC design, temperature and pH.
Research result analysis is to identify Annovs statistical test was used. Conclusions of research are: 1) developed RBC had been made with specification of 320 It volume, PVC pipe media; diameter of 2.54 cm, 60 cm tenatn, 125 units, 75 pipes with air contact, 52 pipes with waste water contact, total media Wide 12 m2, wide ofqJedia with air contact of 7.2 m2, wide of media with waste water 4,2 m2, rotor velocity of 1 rpm, 2) there is difference of ammonium and BOD levels before and after treatment with devetoped RBC, 3) there is ammonium and BOD level decrease before and after treatment with developed RBC, 4) developed RBC optimum capacity in decreasing ammonium and BOD level is by 48 hours detention time.
