Motivasi Pria Pedesaan Dan Perkotaan Menjadi Akseptor Metode Operasi Pria (Mop) Di Bali
The participation of men as vasectomy acceptors becomes important considering the reproductive process infamily becomes a shared responsibility between husband and wife. Motivational, knowledge, and socio-demographic are factors that be considered to influence the participation of urban and rural men to become members of the vasectomy acceptors. The purpose of th is research was to analyze the differences in intrinsic motivation, and extrinsic motivation between vasectomy acceptors in rural and urban areas. Comparative analytical research with across sectional approach and using purposive sampling technique was conducted on 156 vasectomy acceptors residing in urban and rural areas of Bali Province. Statistical test used a comparative test of Mann- Whitney.
The result of th is study showed that the intrinsic motivation of rural versus urban vasectomy acceptors was 77,1 vs 72,9 (p value d" 0,001),and extrinsic motivation of rural versus urban vasectomy acceptors was 75 vs 68,8 (p value d" 0,001).
This study concluded that intrinsic motivation, and extrinsic motivation were higher on sterilized rural men than in urban one. Study on the influence of other variables on men participation in vasectomy is needed.
