Konfirmasi Anopheles Barbirostris Sebagai Vektor Malaria Di Walkabubak Melalui Deteksi Protein Circum Sporozoite (Anopheles barbirostris Confirmation as Malaria Vector in Waikabubak Through The Detection of Circum Sporozoite Protein)
Anoplieline species confirmed as malaria vector ifthe salivarv gland contained sporozoites. One of the method to confirmed ii was through an Enzvme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELLSA). The aim of this study was to investigate the presence of circum sporozoite protein (CSP) in the mosquito of Anopheles barbirostris with ELJSA method. The study was conducted in malaria endemic area named Modu Waimaringu Village, Waikabubak District. Sumba Barat Regency in March 2011. The study design was cross-sectional study, mosquitofor the ELISA test were collected only from animal bait. ELISA method examination used on An. barbirostris bodv ports (i.e. the head-thorax) where sporozoites of P. falciparum or P. Vivax possiblv be found. The results showcd that 40 samples of An. barbirostris mosquitoes which acquiredfrom the rnosquite bait in Modu Waimaringu Village was negative (100%). lt means that there was 170 CSP found and An. barbirostris was not a malaria vector in the area.
