Pengaruh Jenis Insisi pada Operasi Katarak terhadap Terjadinya Sindroma Mata Kering (Dry Eye Syndrome due to Incision Difference on Cataract Surgery
Cataract surgery is the treatment option for cataract with side effect dry eye syndrome. This study was performed to investigate the dry eye syndrome due to incision difference on cataract surgery. A prospective observational study was conducted in 36 subjects undergoing Extra Capsular Cataract Extraction (ECCE), Small lncision Cataract Surgery (SICS) or phacoemulsification. Schirmer test, MGD test, Ferning test, Tear Break Up Time (TBUT) test were assessed before and after surgery. Patient symptoms were reviewed based on the Ocular Surface Disease Index. The correlation between dry eye syndrome due to incision difference on cataract surgery were investigated. A cJinically significant proportion of patients with dry eye after cataract surgery was identified in 31 (86,1%) patient with 12 (38,7%) sampie from ECCE group, 11 (35,5%) sampie from phacoemulsification group, and 8 (25,8%) sampie from SICS group. There is significant correlation between incision difference on cataract surgery and dry eye syndrome (p=0,018).
