Larva Aedes aegypti sudah Toleran terhadap Temepos di Kota Banjarbaru, Kalimantan Selatan
Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever has been being problem in public health. The vector control program is a way to break transmission. Temephos (Abate) has been used as larvicides in the DHF control program since 1976. The long term use of this insecticide can cause resistance. The research aimed to know susceptibility of Ae. Aegypti in a in vitro manner to Temephos
(Abate) organophosphate insecticide in DHF endemic area, Kota Banjarbaru, Kalimantan Selatan. This was a pure experiment study (true experiment study) with post test only control group
design. Eggs and larvaes were colected from study area then rearing in laboratorium until become mosquitos. F1 generation was applied as component of susceptibility test to Temephos (Abate). This research tested the larvae bioassay based on WHO standard procedures (Suceptability Test). Result showed that, mortality rate of larvae Ae. aegypti at WHO diagnostic dosages (0.02 mg/L) in a in vitro manner was 95 %. It means that larva Ae. aegypti in Kota Banjarbaru was tolerance to Temephos (Abate) in a in vitro manner. According to the result the usage of Temephos (Abate) is still relevans as effective larvasidae in Kota Banjarbaru DHF control program by increasing concentration usage, especially at containers of water which difficult cleaned periodically. And the most important control program is by doing “3M” program constantly. Its also implicated the need of routine evaluation in Temephos (Abate) effectiveness later
