Presepsi Pasien dan Perawat terhadap Tidur Pasien di Ruang Intensive Care Unit (ICU) RSUP Dr. Kariadi Semarang
Sleep is very important to intensive patients in critical area because sleep disturbance could reduce energy significantly. The ain of this study was todescribe the perception of patients and nurses regarding sleep in the critical setting. This study was conducted in Intensive Care Unit of Kariadi Hospital, Semarang, Central Java, Indonesia. Purposive sampling technic was applied to gain data from intensive patients and total sampling method for intensive nurses. Participants in this study were 30 patients and 23 nurses. Unpaired t-test was used to analyse the differences between independent groups, and Pearson’s Product-moment was used to descripbe the correlation among groups (subjects). The results of this study showed that the perception of sleep was various, the age and the noisy level were significantly influence to the quality of sleep patients in the intensive care unit (r=0,043 nad chi square=5,86), whereas sedative and long of stay in the hospital was not influence to the quality of patient sleep (p>0,05), the result should be explored more. Nurses in the intensive care needed to modify nursing intervention to complement pharmacological therapy. The result also showed that there was no differences betweenintensive patients and nurses perception regarding sleep. It was recomended to the nurses who worked in intensive care of Kariadi Hospital to implement Richard Campell Sleep Questionnaire (RCSQ) to assess patients who have problem in sleeping and could not report or fill of RCSQ form.
