COST-EFFECTIVENESS ANALYSISPENGOBATAN DEMAM TIFOID ANAK MENGGUNAKAN SEFOTAKSIM DAN KLORAMFENIKOL DI RSUD. PROF.DR. MARGONO SOEKARJO PURWOKERTO
Typhoid fever is an endemic disease in developing country. The highest incidency of
typhoid fever is in children. There are many antibiotics are used to medicate thyphoid fever in children. The using of different antibiotics affects higher medicine cost that patients have to pay. Therefore the research is needed for knowing the cost effective of the two antibiotics between the use of cefotaxime and chloramphenicolin medication of thyphoid fever in children in RSUD Prof.
Dr. Margono Soekarjo is needed. This research used non experimental analitic method with cross-sectional study. This study included 26 typhoid fever children who were treated in first class of Aster room in RSUD Prof. Dr. Margono Soekarjo.
It used secondary datas which includedmedicine costs (drugs, laboratories dan room) and day of treatment. The datas were analyzedstatistically with independent t
-test to find the differences of medication cost and day of treatment
betweencefotaxime and chloramphenicol using. It resulted that the using of
cefotaxime cost Rp.1.075.000,00 and chloramphenicol took Rp. 714.200,00;
day of treatment of cefotaxime using was 6 days and chloramphenicol was 4 days. The independent t-test showed that there weresignificantcost and LHR differences between
cefotaxime and chloramphenicol using in medication of typhoid fever in children. The conclusion of this research is chloramphenicol has more cost-effective thancefotaxime in medication of typhoid fever in children
