PERBEDAAN KEJADIAN DEPRESI PADA NARAPIDANA USIA MUDA DAN USIA TUA BESERTA GAMBARAN SIDIK JARI DI LEMBAGA PEMASYARAKATA PURWOKERTO

Depression is a mood disorder and become one of the health problems in community. It could be happened to anyone in all range of age. It may occured due to several Factor, one of it is genetic factor.Fingerprint image can be used to determine one’s tendency to experience mental disorders. Inmates are one of the most vulnerable populations which can be affected by depression. The aim of this study was to find the differences between incidence of depression at the young and old age prisoners and the fingerprint image in Purwokerto penitentiary. The study was observational with cross sectional method. 97 samples were taken as the subject by consecutive sampling. Data analysis was used univariate and bivariate analysis. The result of
Chi Square test showed that no difference between incidence of depression at the young and old age inmates in Purwokerto penitentiary with p value was 0,435.
Among fingerprint image of prisoners’ pattern (with and without depression), loop was
the most frequent pattern, followed by whorl and arcus. We concluded that was
no difference between incidence of depression at the young and old age inmates and the fingerprint image in Purwokerto penitentiary.
