Efektivitas Kombinasi Ekstrak Buah Mengkudu (Marinda citrifolia) dan Selenium Slfida terhadap Penghambtan Perumbuhan Koloni Pityosporum ovale
Mycosis has not been elucidated completely in the world. Dandruff or seborrhoeic dermatitis is a mycosis that has world prevelence of 50%. Dandruff is caused by pityrosporum ovale, a fungi species. Recently, dandruff therapy includes the using of anti-dandruff agen and traditional herbs. Selenium sulphide is an active ingredients of shampo which effective as anti-pityrosporum agent. Effectiveness of noni (Marinda citrifolia) flesh to inhibit P. Avale colony hes been reported. The aim of this study was to know the effectivity of noni extract and selenium combination to unhibit growth of P. Ovale colony’s growth in vito. This research was using “Rancang Acak Lengkap (RAL) Pola Faktoria” with two factors, noni flesh extract and selenium sulphide. The sample was taken from scalp skin scrapping of dandruff or seborrhoeic dermatitis patient. This research was done by giving combination of five levels of noni extract concentration (0%,0.5%,1%,15%, and 2%) with five levels of selenium sulphide, repeated two times. Agar dilution was used to measure antifungal activity. The data was analyzed with “Analisis Sidik Ragam” This research showed that the decrease amount of p. Ovale colony was’t consistent with the increase concentration of noni flesh extract and selenium sulphide, proportionally, noni flesh extract and selenium sulphide was effective to inhibite the growth of P. Ovale colony. The effective concentration for this combination is 1,5% noni flesh extract plus 1% selenium sulphide and 2% noni flesh extract plus 0,75% selenium sulphide
