Studi Komparasi Alat Pinastik dan Modifikasinya untuk Menurunkan Total Suspended Solids (TSS) Air Limbah Rumah Tangga
Pinastik (Pipa Tunas Septik or horizontally septic pipe) is sppropriate technnology to treatment wastewater on small scale. Pinastik made from 6” PVC pipe designed by prof. Ir. Hardjoso Pr. From UGM Yogyakarta. This tecnology give more adventage on domestic wastewater treatment but still showing low efficiency on removing organic matter (only 11.88%). Organic matter correlated with solids on wastewater, so if solids can be removed significant by setting constructed on sedimentations basins. Pinastik modification is pinastik equipped by plate setter and neiteher pinastik prototype. Research aim to get information about efficiency of pinastik modification comparingwith pinastik prototype to remove total suspended solids in domestic wastewater. This research applicated by pra experimental design with one short case study approach, measuring pre-test and post-test on TSS value. Wastewater from domestic source flowed into two both pinastik and then measured TSSS inlet and outlet from that pinastik. Result showing that average of TSS concentration before treatment is 137,5 mg/ It and after treatment about 75,5 mg/It on pinastik prototypr and 32,25 mg/ It on pinastik modification only 44,9%. There are significant difference (p=0,032) between TSS concentration removing by pinastik prototype and pinastik modification. Redommended using pinastik modification to remove TSS on domestic wastewater and to another research recommended to use pinastik to remove BOD and grease that usualy find on domestic wastewater
