Pthobiological Aspect of Gastational Trophoblastic Disease
Gestational trophoblastic disease (GTD) includes hydatidiform mole (complete and partial) and gastational trophoblastic tumors (inwasive mole, choriocarcinoma, placental site trophoblastic tumor and epithelioid trophoblastic tumor), Experts have studied the development alnormalities of tropoblast cells at vatious GTD trophoblastic lesions, including exaggrated placental site and placental site nodule through the morfological image, cytogenetic, immunophenotype and gene expression profile. Those efforts have been made to understand the pathogenesis of gestational trophoblastic tumor, which is not yet clearly understool, and to develop pathology and molecular diagnosis of various types of trophoblatic tumor, to search for genetic makers for the prognosis and to determine potential therapeutic targets for matastatic form of GID, which is reistant to conventional treatment. Great interest to know the pathogenesis of GID is not enough for the progress of the handing of GID without persistence to get the cancer markers, which are not only through to play a role in this disease, but they also require a long stage of research and validation of cancer markers for diagnostic, pronostic and therapeutic target.
