Nutmeg (Myristica fragans Houtt) Extract and Jawanese Chili (Piper retrofractum Vahl) Extract as Aphrodisiac in Rat and mice

Libido or sexual desive is a sex drive or drive or desire to have sex. Myristica Fragans Houtt (nutmeg) and piper retrofractum vahl (jawance chili) are two plants producing substanes traditionally used for curing various complaints and diseases, among others to relieve pain and to treat men’s sexual arounsal disorder. This research aims to prove the effective use of mutmeg and jawannese chili as a tonic or aphrodisiac. This study used an actual experimental research method with complte random design.Observations were made by counting the reproductive organ weights and testosterone levels of the male rats ofter being introduced to test materials for 10 days, also the member of introducing and mounting of the sexual behavior of male mice sfter being introduced to test materials for 3,5,7 days. The data obtained were analysed statistically with ANAVA test followed by Tukcy HDS. The overage of the reproductive organ weight of the rat group introduced to jawanese chili extract, the negative group, and the testosterone group didn’t have significant differences (p>0.05).
