Arterial Lactate Levels of the Patients With Mild, Moderate, and Severe Head Injuries at Hasan Sadikin Hospital in Bandung
Lactate has been know as one of the prognostic factors determining the outocome of the patient with a head injuries and its relation wiith the cerebral parenchymal damage that is seen on the CT-Scan. Conducting a cross sectional study, we examined the arterial lactate levels of 30 head-injured patients in January-May 2008 who, after hawing a CT-Scan admitted to the emergency room at Hasan Sadikin Hospital, Bandung. We found the means of the arterial lactate levels of different patient the ones with a mild head injury 1,59 mmo/ L. The ANOVA test showed that there is a significant relationship between shown between the arterial lactate level and the damage of the cerebral parenchyme seen on the CT-Scan. It is conducted that the more severe the more severe the head injury and the damage of the cerebral parenchyme are the higher the arterial lactate level is.
