Abstract
: The purpose of this study was to identify the effects of progressive muscle relaxation exercises to
anxiety for clients with primary hypertension in Malang. This study used a quasi
-
experimental design with
a consecutive sampling. Sample size was 40 respo
ndents, divided into two groups: treatment and control
groups. The treatment group received progressive muscle relaxation exercises for 15 minutes each time,
twice a day and conducted for six days. The anxiety measurements was obtained for both groups twic
e that
before do exercises on day I and after on day VI. The conclusion a progressive muscle relaxation exercise
can significantly reduce anxiety.
