Kadar IFN-y (Fungsi Th-1CD4+ dan IL-4 (fuungsi Th-2 CD4+ pada Penderita Artritis Lepra
The correlation between IFN-y (TH-I CD'" function) and IL-4 level (T fr2 CD-I• jimction) in leprosy arthritis
Background: II was hypothesized by some expertise that there is a negative correlation between TH-I CO'' function (IFN-ylevel) and Tw2 CO" function (lL-4 level) in rheumatoid arthritis and lupus pathogenesis (Leader). The correlation between IFN-y level and IL-4level in the leprosy arthritis has never been reported. The objective of the study is to evaluate the correlate between IFN-r and IL-4 level in leprosy arthritis.
Method: The correlation between !FN- r level (pg/m!) and IL-4 level (pg/ml) were analysed after stimulated with several M. leprae Ag. (/0 kDa, 35 kDa, and MLSA 2 IIg/ml) on the peripheral blood Iymphocyte culture of leprosy arthritis patients (n=22) (RPM! 1640 sigma). The study was carried 0111 at Hayati Laboratory Gajah Mada University The Spearman correlation test was used in analysis.
Result: There were no significant correlations between IFN- y and IL-4 level given 3 different numbers of M. /eprae with 1'(=-0.32, r}=O.262, and rJ=0.324 with p,=O.888. p}=O.238, and PJ=()' 747 respectively of Spear man rest on arthritis leprosy group.
Conclution: There is no correlation between IFN-yand IL-4 level in leprosy arthritis patients.
