Pengaruh Pemberian Infusa Daun Senduk terhadap Gambaran Mikroskopis Hepar yang Diinduksi Benzo (a) Piren

To find cheaper alternative of cancer therapy, a research was done to assess the effect of solution of plantago mayor leaves. The solution used was in 10 %, 20 % and 30 % concentrate. To induce can¬cer, the mice was induced by benzo(a)piren solution for 21 days, then at the age of 2 months, solution of plantago mayor was given for another 2 months. The mice were then killed, and their liver as pre¬pared for microscopic examination. For this research, we used 50 mice, and separated into 5 groups. The first group used as normal control, while the second group was given benzo (a) pyre ne without treat¬ment. The third, fourth and fifth group were given solution of plantago mayor of 10 %, 20 % and 30% respectively. We found that microscopically, the first group is normal, while the second group shows liver abnormality. The third group showed an improvement, while the fifth groups show much more improvement. However in group fourth, we did not find any improvement. The study found that solu¬tion of plantago mayor show ability to repair liver cell abnormality caused by benzo (a) piren, although the result was inconclusive.
