Pengaruh Pemberian Asam Borax pada Mencit terhadap SGOT dan SGPT (The Effect of Boric Acid in Mice on AST and ALT)
Boric acid and its salts, sodium tetraborax (borax) is one of additional ingredient which prohibited its use in food. The ban is related to the influence caused by borax compound to human health that can cause central nervous system disorders, kidney and liver. Still finding of abuse of borax in food in big cities in Indonesia, believed to be due to oversight Balai f'OM is not reached on all types of food produced in the household scale. This study aims to assess the provision of borax acid that can affect the levels of SGOT and SGPT mice. The research method applied is the experimental laboratory using mice that have been adapted for 1 week 24 tail number that is divided into 4 groups: a control group and 3 treatment groups. Borax acid administered orally in mice treated group categorized by dose of 100 mg I kg, 200 mg I kg and 400 mg I kg. The experimental design using Completely Randomized Design (CRD) and the data obtained were analyzed by ANOVA followed by LSD test if found any significant difference between treatment groups. The conclusion of this research is the provision of borax acid can raise levels of SGOT and SGPT mice and the greater the dose of borax acid in mice given the stronger effect of increased levels of SGOT and SGPT in mice.
