Efek Anti Diabetes Rebusan Kayu Bidara Laut (Strychonas Ligustrina BI) pada Tikus Putih yang di Induksi Aloksan (Anti Diabetic Effects of Boled Sea Jujube on White Rats Inducted Alloxan)
Sea jujube (Strychonas ligustrina B/) is one of the traditional plants known to be usable for alternative antidiabetics. However, it has not been proven experimentally. This study was aimed to find the effect of boiled sea jujube (Strychonas ligustrina B/) on the reduction of blood glucose level in rats rendered to be diabetic by the induction with alloxan. This study involved 35 randomly-selected male Rattus norvegicus rats, aged 2-3 months, with body weight of 150-200 grams. All rats were rendered diabetic by providing 250 mg/kgBW alloxan intraperitoneally. The result of anova and LSD test revealed that sea jujube in concentration of 10% had been effective to reduce blood glucose level significantly. Based on linear regression test, the increase of sea jujube dose has no linear correlation with its effect in reducing blood glucose level. Increasing dose should have increased the effect. The fact is, however, the higher the dose, the lower the effect of the sea jujube.
