The current study utilized human cell (WIL2-NS) to investigate the prooxidant effect of a-tocopherol succinate. MTT assay was carried out to. determine toxicity effect or praoxidant of a-tocopherol succinate. The safe doses of a-tocopherol succinate (antioxidant effect) for J hour exposure on human cell (WIL2-NS) are up to 25 j..lM, while for 24 hours exposure is 2.5 pM This study reveals that a-tocopherol succinate is potential antioxidant, however an certain doses a-tocopherol succinate will have detrimental effect on human cells (praoxidant effect).
