Efek Buah Pepino (Salanum Muricatum Aiton) terhadapKadar Glukosa Darah dan Kajian Efek Samping pada Fungsi Hati hewan Coba (Rattus Norvegicus) Diabetes Mellitus

Abstract. Self-medication using Pepino s Fruit (Solanum muricatum aiton) has been practiced in society for long time in herbal product and juice. This research aims to give scientific view of self-medication using Pepino s Fruit in the daily practices by analyzing its usage on blood glucose level, SGOTserum and SGPTserum with pre-clinically. This is an experimental and control group study using 36 Rats of Rattus norvegicus which were divided into experimental and control groups. Six rats for normal control and I8 alloxan induced-diabetic rat were divided into 3 groups: non-treatment diabetic, 32,4 mg dosage Pepino etanol-extract-treatment diabetic and 64,8 mg dosage Pepino etanol-extract-treatment diabetic. I2 rats normal were divided into 2 groups. 32,4 mg dosage Pepino etanol-extract-treatment and 64,8 mg dosage Pepino etanol-extract-treatment. In the end of treatment (30 days), all rats arefasling and the blood and examined to observe SGOT level, SGPT level and blood glucose level. Statistical analysis is using ANOVAs test and Tukeys HSD mean difference, respectively. The best result is observed in 64,8 mg dosage Pepino etanol-extract-treatment diabetic group.
