The Relationship Between Knowledge With Tooth Brushing and Behaviour of Patients Visting Dental Clinic of Public Health Centre Sukawati I In 2010
Abstract. Dental health is one of/he important components of the entire body health. The loss of teeth will influence the chewing process, speech function and esthetic appearance of the persons concerned Health teeth should be maintained as long as possible. The objective of cleaning the teeth is to clear of the plaque, Dental plaque has a pathogenic role of dental caries and periodontal diseases. The effective tooth brushing is mainly to clear the plaque of the teeth. Based on the data of2006, 2007, and 2008, the top ten most dental diseases, pulpa and periapical tissue diseases are always at the second in the rank. The objective of this research is to analyze the correlation between the knowledge of dental health with the tooth brushing behaviour of patient visiting dental clinic of Public Health Centre Sukawati J in 2009. This is a cross sectional study The mean of respondent 's knowledge is 5.21 with standard deviation of 2,810. The mean behaviour is 77 with standard deviation of 1.067. There was a significant correlation between dental health and tooth brushing behaviour (p=0. 002). It is suggested that dental health extension especially the way of tooth brushing should be maintained and improved
