Pengaruh Posisi Kepala dan Passive Range of Motion (PROM) Ekstremitas Atas Terhadap Menurunan Skor National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) pada Pasien Stroke Iskemik di Rumah Sakit Sanglah Denpasar Bali
Abstract. The main problem of ischemic stroke is interference on cerebral blood flow. The purpose of this study was to identify the effect of head position 15" and Passive Range of Motion (PROM) on decreasing NIHSS score on Ischemic Stroke Patients. This was a quasi experimental study with pretest and posttest design. The sample size of this study were 20 samples taken purposively at Sanglah Hospital Denpasar, Bali 2008. The study showed that there was a decrease on the mean of NIHSS score on experiment group was 4.00 (p = 0.0001) and 2.60 on control group (p = 0.0001). The different of mean ofNIHSS score between experiment group and control group was 1.40 (p = 0.067). The study concluded that there was benificial effect on neurological status stroke ischemic patients with NIHSS measurement on providing 150 of head position and PROM However, there was no significant different effect between providing of 150 of head position & PROM and providing of 300 of head position & PROM It was recommended to choose both of head position (150 or 30'~ and PROM in order to improve the quality of nursing care.
