Uji Aktivitas Antibakteri Fraksi Etanol 70% dari Ekstrak Daun Mahkota Dewa (Phaleria macrocarps (Scheff) Boeri.) terhadap Bakteri Sterptococcus mutans (Antibacteri Activity Test of Pheleria macrocarpa Levae Extract in Ethanol 70% on Streptococcus mutans Bacteria)
Phaleria macrocarpa Scheff. Boerl. is used as traditional medicine in Indonesia. The leaf extract in ethanol of this species had been reported as inhibit the growth of Streptococcus mutans. In this experiment the leaf extract was prepare by maceration of the P. macrocarpa foliage, then the extract was fractionate to obtain the ethanol fraction.. The antibacterial activity test who carried out by agar diffusion in a glass-cylinder. The concentration used was 50, 100, 200, 400, 800 iJg/ml. Ampicillin was used standard the result at the concentrate pf 0, 5, 1, 2, 3, 4 iJg/ml. The results showed that the 70% ethanol fraction of the herb as having the anti bacterial activity on Streptococcus mutans. The statistical analysis of the data, showed that Phaleria macrocarpe leaves provided regression equation Y = 5,3083 + (5,3 x 10")x and of the ampicillin was Y = 3,674 + 1, 762x. Therefore the relative potency of 70% ethanol fraction is (5,3 x 10") times of ampicillin.
