Status Gizi dan Morbiditas Balita (0-59 Bulan) pada Rumah Tangga yang Mempunyai Balita dan Memanfaatkan Posyandu

Integrated health post (Posyandu) implemented 4 princips of Primary Health Care (PHC) which is universal coverage, community participation, multi-sectoral collaboration and the use of appropriate technology Basic health research (Riskesdas) 2007 data shows that 23% of household in Indonesia use the services of Posyandu and the most usable services were weighing and Immunization children under five. The objective of this study is to get the potrait of the nutrition and morbidity status of children under five on household which have children under five and use the services of Posyandu.

This study use the Riskesdas 2007 data that is 95.488 household which has children under five. Analysis on the advantges of Posyandu by children under five, based on kind of sevices, nutrition and morbidity status.

The result of this study shows that 66% household which have children under five, use the services of Posyandu. From the household wich use the services of Posyandu, 94% get the advantage of weighing, 29.7% get the advantage of clinical services and 11.9% use the services of consultation on risk of diseases. Nutrition status of children under five on household which use the services of Posyandu 99.5% were on normal category and morbidity status shows that 43. 7% has expierence on a common breath upper tract infection.

The conclusion of this study is that in household which have children under five and get the advantages of Posyandu's services, has a normal nutrition status and below 50% has the expierence of a common breath upper tract infection. It is recommended that Posyandu need to improve their services on clinical and consultation on risk of diseases such as obesity and under nutrition. So, if only a small part of children under five are obese, it is an indication to prevent double burden problems on nutrition that is attention not only on obese cases but also on under nutrition cases.
