Hubungan Pengetahuan Ibu Menyusui dengan Kesesuaian Pemilihan Kontrasepsi di BPS Emmy N. Surabaya
Many women have difficulty in determining the choice of types of contraceptives, based on preliminary studies on the BPS Emmy N in Surabaya in getting from 10 respondents half (50%) have less knowledge about contraception and in getting a majority (60%) of respondents choosing not appropriate contraception. Knowledge is one of forming attitudes intsa (to(1J1 Attitude) (Notoatmodjo, 2003). Therefore, the authors conducted a study titfed "Hubungan Penge(1Jhuan Ibu Menyusui Dengan Kesesuaian Pemilihan Kontrasepsi di BPS Emmy N. Surabaya~ This study Is a cross sectional analytic observational study, which aimed to determine the relatfonship of knowledge about contraception breastfeeding mothers with the choice of contraception in the BPS Emmy N. in Surabaya in April-June 2010. The population in this study were mothers nursing infants aged 0-6 months as many as 103 people. While the sample in this study of 34 mothers breastfeeding Infants aged 0-6 months are going to use contraception. Samples taken by simple random sampling. Independent variables in this research is knowledge about contraception while breast-feeding mothers, dependent variable is the selection of contraceptives. Da(1J collected by questionnaires and analyzed with the chi squared s(1Jtistical test with significance level (a) 0.05. Based on the results of the study, of 34 mothers breastfeeding Infants aged 0-6 months the majority (53.0%) had less knowledge about contraception and the majority (52.9%) did not fit in the selection of contraception. Values obtained by s(1Jtistical calculation was calculated X 2 = 10.5 and X 2 = 5.991 (1Jble. Means Ho is rejected. Therefore we can conclude that there Is a relationship of knowledge selection of breastfeeding mothers with the appropriateness of contraceptfon. Instead, mIdwives can be more cleariy provide information about contraception, especially contraception that can be used by nursing mothers. In addition, breastfeeding mothers are expected each match on the choosing contraceptive that does not affect breast milk.
