Pengaruh Air Perasan Umbi Bawang Merah (Allium ascalonicum L) terhadap Kadar Malondialdehid (MDA) Plasma Mencit
Oxidants and antioxidants imbalance in tissues might cause oxidative stress which could cause cell damage and dead. Malondialdehyde, a product of lipid peroxidation. often used as one of indicators to detect the oxidative stress damaged in tissues. Empirically, peo¬ple often used onion (Allium ascalonicum L.) after having high lipid diet. The aim of this research was to analyze effects of onion's extortion water as antioxidant on high lipid diet mice based on MDA plasma level. This was an experimental laboratory research with post test only design. Mice were divided into normal feed group, high lipid diet group, and on¬ion's extortion water addition to high lipid diet in groups of 20%, 40% and 80% concentra¬tion. The result show that there w~s significant difference (p0.05). There was no significant difference between in 20% and 40% onion's extortion water addition. As a conclusion, this research proves that onion's extortion water has an effect to decrease mice MDA plasma level by using 80% onion at the best.
