Hubungan antara Kadar Trombosif pada Fase Kritis dengan Jenis Perdarahan dan Syok pada Infeksi Dengue Anak di RSUD Wates
The district of Kulon Progo did not escape from the threat of dengue infection. Bleeding as one of the symptoms of DHF thought due to thrombocytopenia which also became a clinical sign of DHF and may be the risk factor for DSS. The objectives of this study is to assess the relationship beJween platelet levels in the critical phase with the type of hemorrhage and shock in dengue infection and the symptoms and signs which become risk factors for DSS in children at RSUD Wates. The study design was observational analytic descriptive and case control design. The samples were collected from children aged by 1-15 years who were treated at RSUD Wates period January to December 2009 with DHF or DSS, a complete medical record of clinical symptoms and signs, laboratory results of platelet levels, leukocyte counts, hematocrite, and hemogfobin in the critical phase was needed. Univariate analysis using the frequency distribution table and bivariate analysis using the chi-square. test. 44 subjects included in this study. 12 subjects DSS (case group) and 32 subjects DHF (control group). There was no significant relationship beJween level of platelets to the type of hemorrhage and shock (p>0,05). The risk factors of DSS are children aged by 1-7 years old (p=O, 005), purpura and ecchymosis (p=0,025), gums bleeding (p=0,018), h~maturia (p=0,018), hepatomegaly (p=O, 002), leukocyte counts
