Mechanical Proporties of Carving Wax with Various Ca-bentonite Filler Composition
The curving wax is used as a medium in dental anatomy atudy. This wax composes of many wases and sometimes a filler is added. Curving wax is not sold in Indonesian market. Whereas the gradens of carving was many wases and sametimes a filler is added. Carving wax is not Indonesian market, Whereas the gradents of carving wax such as beewax, paraffin and bentomite are abundant in Indonesia. Based on that fact, to make high quality and standard the exact composition if this carving wax should be known. The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of carsing wax composition with Ca-bentomite filler on the melting point, hardness, hardex, and themal expansion. Five carving wax composions were male with parafin. Ca-bentomite, carnauba wax, and beeswax, in ratio (% weight) 50.20.25;;5 (KL), 55;15;25;5 (KII), 65;5;25;5(KIV), 70;0;25;5 (KV). All components were and melted, then poured into the melting point, hardness, and thermal expansion mouldds (n=5). There carving wax properthes were lested: melting paint by melting point apparatus by penetrometer; Thernal expansion by digital sliding caliper. The data were nalyzed statistically using One Way ANOVA and ISD. The Ca bentonite addition influenced the melting point and thernal expansion of carving wax with significant differemces between KI and other groups p
