Penggunaan Seng Oral pada Satu Kasus Eritema Nodosum Leprosum Nekrotikan Berulang (The Use of Oral Zinc in One Case of Recurrent Erythema Nodosum Leprosum Necrotican)

Serum xinc level in the reaction of leprosy patient, especially erythema nodosum leprosum (ENL), is within a very low contration. The use of oral zinc in leprosy reaction improving serum zinc levl significantly and reducing frequency ,duration, and sevrity of the reaction, also lowering steroid amount needed. The objective of this case report was to determine the effectivity of oral zinc supplementation in ENL patient treated with oral contricosteroid. A twenty six years old male was presented with recurrent necrotizing ENL, and left knee. Diagnosis made based on ananesis, physical and laboratory examination. Medication treatments comparing 24 mg of methyl predisolon with tappering off dose and supplementation. Significant improvement of serum zinc level, clinical apperance of ENL and alcer are achieved alter the use of oral zinc for 4 weeks.
