Hubungan Kebersihan Mulut dan Gingivitis Ibu Hamil terhadap Kejadian Bayi Berat Lahir Rendah Kurang Bulan di RSUP Dr. Kariadi Semarang dan Jejaringnya
The association between maternal oral hygiene and dingivitis to pretern low birth weight in Dr. Kariadi Hospital Semarang. Poor oral hygiene can cause infection in teeth or periodontium tissue as gingivitis and periodontitis. Infection may spreal systemically and increase proinflammatory mediators that lead to PLBW. The aim of this study is to know that oralhygiene and gingivitis among pregnant women associated with PLBW.This study was an analytic observational study with a cross sectional design. Fifty seven delivered women (20-35 years old with 21 PLBW babies and 36 normal babies invoved in the study at Dr. Kariadi Hospitl. Tuurejo Province and Semarang District Hospital observed three months after delivery. Exlusion criteria were diabetes mellitus, hypertension heart disease, tobacco and and alcohol SPSS 13.0 for Windows program with Chi square test, and done calculation POR (Prevalence Odds Ratio).Maternal oral hygiene assiciated but doesn’t influence PLBW with p=0.093 (POR=2.55, 95%CI=0.84-7.72). Gingivitis among pregnant women associated and as a risk factor of PLBW with p=0.00 (POR=8.75, 95%CI: 2.56-29.94%) Gingivitis among pregnant women associated and as a risk factor of PLBW, however, poor oral hygiene is not influence to PLBW. Nutrition status among pregnanat women associated and as a risk factor of PLBW.
